Jonathan FeBland, Composer
Jonathan FeBland is one of Europe's most
exciting and versatile composers. He studied at the Royal Academy
of Music, London, where he organised a large number of concerts, many
of them full length events, entirely of his own compositions. He
made his South Bank debut in 1982 while still a student, organising
the first concert by The Febland Ensemble to high critical acclaim. Universal
Edition first published two of his original compositions in 1985 and
numerous international performances followed. In 1989, Bardic
Edition offered him a favourable publishing contract and more pieces
appeared in print soon after. In 1996 he was again approached by a
music publisher, this time Samuel King, and further work has become
available to the public through sales of sheet music. Alongside
his successful classical career, Jonathan FeBland has achieved five-figure
sales for his work in the field of New Age Music. Much of this music
was composed with artistic guidance from the eminent producer Clifford
White. New World Cassettes released eight albums from 1984
onwards with sales in the USA, Japan and Australia, as well as the
domestic market, with further releases by the New Music label Audio Art
and most recently by 21st Century Music. No
biography of Jonathan FeBland would be complete without mentioning his
long-standing partnership with the international concert pianist Louis Demetrius Alvanis. A large number of works have been composed
for this musician who in turn has performed them at major venues often to
enthusiastic audiences and impressed critics. |
